After having already been in Berlin this year with a temporary installation, Magic Wall was invited to Germany's biggest museum-tech event in November. Back & Rosta made a successful debut with several of our digital displays at MUTEC in Leipzig. This could open new doors to the Western European market.
We were the only Hungarian participants out of 122 exhibitors from 28 countries to arrive in Leipzig, where more than 13,000 visitors were registered in the city's huge commercial centre, the Leipziger Messe, on 7 and 8 November. We came with a total of 12 digital displays and made a big impact with our spectacular installation.
According to the organisers, this was one of the most high-profile thematic international trade fairs in Germany, mainly for museum professionals. The Back & Rosta team participated as invited guests and partners of the main organisers after the Germans fell in love with our interactive video display at the Museum Connections event in Paris in January this year.
After several months of preparation, the deal was reached: this year Back and Rosta was represented with 12 displays - 10 units of 55-inch monitors and two 86-inch monitors. The 10 walls, in a central location, consisted of a giant wall about 8 metres wide and were used primarily to display information about our own products and results.
And in the "Action" interactive section of the exhibition hall, two Mini Magic Walls were used to showcase the content of the organisers, mostly German museums. In both places, we installed our video displays in such a prominent location that only those who arrived with their eyes closed missed their vibrant, immersive experience.
According to the organisers, in addition to the significant increase in the number of visitors, this year was also notable for the high proportion of professionals in senior decision-making positions from the museum sector. Only 44% of the top decision-makers registered for MUTEC in 2018, up from 51% in 2022, and already 62% this year.
Almost 50 presentations enriched the programme over the two days. For us, the most memorable was of course Istvan Back's presentation. Our company founder lectured about our success story, digital museum trends, the interactive digital display market in Europe and worldwide, to a great interest.
After Paris and Malaga, this is the third major international trade show we have exhibited at this year. We arrived with high expectations and hopes, and it is no coincidence that the most important members of our European team were here in person. Germany is a promising market and we had the opportunity to experience this in Berlin this summer. Now in Leipzig we have had many encouraging discussions with directors and curators. The follow-up period has started, and we are confident that we have managed to find valuable partners. – summarized the experience Miklós Rosta, co-founder of the company and director responsible for the European market.
